Banca Monte Dei Paschi di Siena
Hi there! I have a little history lesson for you. This is a photo of the oldest surviving bank in the world. Banca Monte Dei Paschi di Siena has been in operation since 1472! Now, there are some who will say that the Barenberg bank in Hamburg is the oldest because it has existed in its original form and name since 1590. By contrast Banca Monte dei Paschi began in 1472 as a “mount of piety”(a loan broker which allowed poor people the ability to take loans without going to loan sharks) but was not established as a full bank until 1624. What do you think? Oldest or second oldest?

Siena is Spectacular even in rainy weather.
I just spent a beautiful week in Tuscany working on a new project (stay tuned) and revisiting some of my favorite places. I have to say, mid April is a great time of year to visit Italy. There are way less tourists, and aside from some cloudy mild days, the scenery is just beautiful!
