Circa 2000. This photo was taken in in Rome by my soon to be husband. He actually popped the question the next day! As you know all roads lead to Rome. This road also lead to my love affair with Italy.

Hi Everyone! So this is my first blog post and I have to say I’m pretty excited about it!

First of all.

let me introduce myself. My name is Michelle. I am the proud mom of 2 teens and for 20 years, I’ve been married to and am business partners with a wonderful Italiano.  As I am sure many of you will understand, I arrived at that point in my life where I had lot of extra time on my hands. For the first time in many years, I was able to stop and ask myself, what do I want to do? After much thought, here I am. Writing about what I know and love. ITALY.

How do I know so much about Italy you ask??

Well, my husband is Italian. Not just Italian but Italian-Italian. Like born and raised in Italy and won’t drink Cappuccino after 12:00 p.m. and would call the Carabinieri if he found you putting cheese on his fish. He is that kind of Italian… And as I quickly found out, being married to an Italian person has some amazing perks. I have been blessed with 20 summers in Italy, Christmases every other year and for 2 glorious years, we were residents of Modena, Italy. (In my opinion, hands down the most delicious city ever!)

And that is how I know so much about Italy…

All of these experiences have given me  a priceless education. I learned to travel around this spectacular country as one of their own. Like a local. These experiences changed how I traveled.  I was no longer corralled on the road frequently traveled but got to explore the side streets and the back roads.

My goal with this blog is to offer some advice and pass on what I learned.  I also want to hear your stories. Italy is one of those places that inspires conversations. If you have spent any time with Italians…. well, you know what I mean. 😉
