A glorious breakfast at Pasticceria Veneto by Isinio Massari, named best pastry chef in the world.

The best pastry chef in the world!

This post is long overdue and my apologies to those that have been in Brescia in the past couple of months. 😬

When we travel to a new place in Italy, we always call friends or family for advice. There is usually someone we know who lives there, works there, or travels there.  Our trip to Franciacorta was no different. A good friend told us under no uncertain terms that we must go to Brescia and visit Pasticceria Veneto. This famous pastry shop is owned by Iginio Massari, who has been awarded the world’s best pastry chef and countless other awards.

We always follow the rules.

There is a rule we always follow. If at all possible, when an Italian friend or family member tells you to go somewhere to eat, you go.

And so we went. When we arrived at a nondescript parking lot in Brescia, we couldn’t believe that the best pastries in the world were anywhere nearby. We looked around for a minute and saw people heading for the back corner of the lot like a parade of ants. We followed the group and there we found a haven of confection.

The only thing I can say is OMG!!!!

I have never-ever-ever eaten pastry so delicate, balanced, elegant, and YUMMY in my life. We ordered a quantity of pastry, petit fours, and brioche that would normally knock you out. These instead were like eating clouds. They went right down and kept us going for the rest of the day.

Hopefully, this convinced you to go. Definitely follow the rules on this one. I’ll include the website and address below the photos.

Have a great day where ever you are. 🥐 🍰 ☕️
